I have finished reading all four Dan Brown novels and am eagerly awaiting his new one but no one seems to know when it's out. The Dan Brown novels are the first I have read in this kind of genre. So I need a few new books to see me through the autumn and would reall like to read things in the same vain as the Dan Brown stuff. What are your recommendations for a bit of suspense, history and conspirac theories? I prefer fiction as opposed to non-fiction theories and I like things involving religeon and puzzles. I have only really just started getting back into reading and would love to hear what you would reccomend for my next book.

I really enjoyed = The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco
though written in the 80 it is very good. You may have seen the movie with the same name but honestly the book is better.

This is a great one of browns, suspense and mistery. I like all his collections and its highly fictious.

The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco is a very good book, it was adapted to cinema with Sean Connery as William of Baskerville you may have seen it, I have not as yet read his other novels so I cannot say if they are as good, they are on my to read list. Another book in this genre is The Club Dumas which has murder and mystery it was adapted into the film The Ninth Gate with Johnny Depp it is very dark. The movie adaptions I watched after reading the books are not as detailed.

If you like the novelty of Dan Brown's novels, then the best person whose novel you can read is Michael Crichton as he comes up with novel plots each and every time. Each of his novel is different from a previous one.
On the other hand if it is his presentation that you liked i.e. the adventure part of it than you again have a host of writers from Jeffrey Archer to John Grisham whose books you can read on.
On religion and puzzles though, I have not seen too many novels, though a novel by the name of Nightfall by Sir Isaac Asimov is a classic you might like.
Cheers!
