I have quite a few green tomatoes that I want to use ASAP and also some crab apples. What, other than chutney, can I do with them. Recipes need to be inexpensive and only have a few, eas to get a hold of ingridients.

Have you ever tried fried green tomatoes, they are so good. It's easy to make too, all you need is flour, egg, milk, enough oil in the frying pan to cover about 1/2 way up a slice of tomato. Mix about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of milk with the egg, slice the tomatoes in about 1/4 inch slices (give or take a little), dip the tomato in the egg mixture, then into the flour (you can double dip them if you like, again in egg and then in flour) place in hot oil, fry til light golden brown. Enjoy.

No, I've never tried them. They sound good so I think I'll give them a whirl! Thank you so much.
