How did the Universe start?

I Really have no solid belief in this and am very open mindedn. But if there was some kind of creator where the hell |(scuse the pun) did he come from!. and as for the scientifficaly accepted theroy of the big bang! then what the hell caused the gasses and stuff to be there to make the big bang! My head hurts! please help
