Would you wait overnight for...

the re-opening of a restaurant? I was amazed when I checked out a local TV news site to read that many people had waited overnight for the re-opening of a local restaurant. Sure, there are restaurants that I really like, but I think this is going a bit far. It's true that they were handing out gift cards, but people must have quite a bit of time on their hands these days.http://www.whiotv.com/news/17377276/detail.html?rss=day&psp=news

That is ridiculous, Bob Evans isn't that good and they are everywhere.. I remember when they reopened McDonalds here and we didn't go inside for over a year, I didn't want to fight the crowds for a meal..

I used to go there occasionally, carmelanirel, but they have closed about all of them that were in shouting distance of me.

Still, it isn't worth my time to fight the crowds, but that is me, some people don't mind..

No way ! First I think restaurants are WAY TO EXPENSIVE. I never go to restaurants for that fact ! I prefer going to Mcdonalds or burger king, it's more in my budget lol ! Anyway I know Mcdonalds is less healthy than restaurants but still... Again it's too expensive !

Yeah it's true :) But I stick to the good ol' BigMac haha :) I'm not interested in salads or things like that :/ It just doesn't feed me enough.

I cannot even think of anything that I would wait in line for overnight. I guess I am just a party pooper. My time is just more valuable than that. Gift cards or not.

I would like to second that, GG. There are far too many interesting things one could be doing.

I have never even queued overnight somewhere for concert tickets let alone a restaurant! It would want to have some amazing food and I am sure they did great business that opening day too. Imagine how hungry all of these people must have been when the doors finally opened! lol.

Thankfully I am not into that type of restaurant. But I could see camping out to see a favorite music act or a must see movie.

I am like you I would wait also untill the crowd days down. I have always been that way if I hear about some new reasturant coming to my town I give it at least 2 weeks to let the traffic of it die down if not longer.
