OTHER people here means your child/children, husband/wife, girlfriend/boyfriend, relatives and close friends. i think it depends on the situation. me and my hubby eat off each other's plates when there are only the two of us. otherwise i ask him/he asks me to put it in my/his mouth. my child eats only very little amounts of food because she's just four months old, but i eat her leftovers if i find i can stand the taste of it. i eat off my mom's, dad's and sisters' plates, but then again, it would be only if we don't have company. i DON'T eat off on my friends' plates, even if they are close friends. i draw the line in my family.
what is your opinion? do you think it is acceptable to eat off other people's plates?

There is no harm being a 'garbage' collector from within the family circle as I am also used to this kind of practice. However, I have to limit myself as it is adding extra poundage to my already XL size. Mind you I am very particular on unfinished food left by my children after a meal as I am always thinking of under privilege people who have no food or lack of food. Instead of throwing it out to the dogs I end up finishing their left overs.

You mean you'll eat whatever was left in their plate? or eat at their plate after the were done eating. If you mean eating what is left on their plate, I don't do that to my mom and siblings, my mom is the one doing that to us, but with my kids, I sometimes eat what is left on their food, but actually most of the time, we eat on the same plate. If I am so lazy and I do not want my mountain high dishes to add, me an hubby shares plate. as with close friends, that would be oh so yucky! but as of glasses, I don't mind, I am used to sharing one glasses with my sorority sisses and fraternity brothers (like when you are drinking gin)
