Do you still respond to discussions posted months ago?

I noticed that from time to time I am responding to discussions initially posted several months ago. This made me wonder, does the author monitor this topic? Doesn't he want to choose the best response and have his discussion tagged as "resolved"? I don't know but I find it hard for the originators to get back to all of his topics and monitor every response for his topics posted long time ago.
I guess, if the post interests me then its okay to respond to month-aged discussions. Do you still respond to discussions posted several months ago?

I havent been here in a few months (except the last 3 days) so whatever i find interesting, im responding to. Im not concerned with the age of the discussion at all :)

Funny you should bring up this topic fedge, because I still get responses to a particular discussion I wrote over a year ago! In fact, I got another response yesterday. I gave a Best Response to someone at the time, so to me, it was over the done with.
I don't know how people find these old discussions!

maybe they have already responded to every topic they find. Or they browse each member's topics and respond to each just to have additional posts in a day. Or perhaps they really are interested with those topics, regardless whether it's resoleved or not. =)

Yes, I do , if I find the topic interesting and of value to who had posted that.
