I remember my mom NEVER wearing white after Labor Day. No white shoes- no white pants/shorts/etc. And wouldn't wear them again until the first day of Spring. I love to wear my white pants and shoes- they're too cute to not continue to wear! :) Do you wear white after Labor Day? Do you think it really matters anymore or is that just an old rule? Thanks for your reply!

That was the unspoken rule years ago. People figured after Labor Day, summer was over, therefore white was a no no. I think as long as it is still hot outside, there is no reason not to wear white. I usually stop wearing white when it starts getting cold. I wouldn't wear white during a snow storm though
But to each his/her own, I do not think it really matters much, but it does look funny seeing someone wearing white shoes in January.
Thanks for bringing up this discussion

It's like an "Old Wives Tale". Back in the day- you just weren't suppose to wear white after Labor Day until Spring. Because white is for Spring/Summer. So you were suppose to wear cream in Fall/Winter. I don't know what the big deal is, but some people still go by it I believe, so I was wondering if anyone really does go by that old "rule of thumb".
