Recently online I've found alot of articles on gender swaying when trying for a family. Some claim it's worked for them? Do you believe in this?

Why would anyone want to predetermine whether they have a boy or a girl? I don't understand it. Neither gender is superior to the other for anything real. I understand some families after having multiple kids of one or the other might wish for the opposite, but in the end does it really matter?
Gentetically, I am very hesitant to go forward with it. Messing with someones gender is tricky and can potentially really mess with the person later in life. Since, gender isn't really expressed until puberty, people won't really know the long-term effects until these kids grow up. Then what will happen? Gender is so hard-wired into us. There are inherent differences between men and women. It affects everything from brain function to physiology. What about the lives of the children? What happens if they were "swayed" to be a girl, when they were supposed to be a boy? It would be so much easier if we let nature do its thing. It's worked for the entirety of the human race with few problems. If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Hmm, interesting point on perhaps it was suppose to be a boy and ended up being a girl due to swaying.

For the child it can really matter. There are a host of psychological and physical issues that can arise if a child is "forced" to become one gender over the other. I knew a person whose life was not very happy because her parents got it wrong. It wasn't swaying, it was outright choosing, but the results can be the same. Male and Female aren't interchangible. Our gender expression is a complex relationship between genetics and environment. Change one part of the equation and the entire thing can become mixed up.

I;m sorry but I have issues with this..AS far as I'm concerned couples/ppl who CAN concieve should just be happy that they can and only want a healthy baby...There are so many ppl/couples out there that are UNABLE to have children I imagine this sort of mindset or "trick" must just set them off..I know if I couldnt have kids it would infuriate me to no end..

I agree with you- my husband and I haven't tried yet for a family but if we couldn't- it would frusrate me to no end as well.

I have never heard of this. What exactly is gender swaying? As far as I am concerned, when conceiving a child, gender should not matter. As long as the child is born healthy, whether it's a girl or a boy should not matter. If this is something that can affect gender, I'm scared that too many countries where boys are prized over girls, would do this to eliminate girl children.
