I have so many I don't know if I can name one! J.A. Jance is a favorite as well as Robert B Parker, Sue Grafton, P.D. James, Kate Wilhem.... can you tell I love to read!! Right now I am reading a series by Keri Arthur, that is really different and intriguing! So you see, I love finding new authors to read as well!

That's good you like to experiment with new authors, so you experience a variety of writing styles. That'll get your imagination really kickin!

My favorite author is John Saul. He is comparable to Dean Koontz or even Stephen King, he just gets less press ;) My grandmother was tired of the childish stuff I was reading, so when I was about eleven, she handed me my first "grown up" book - SHADOWS, by John Saul. I've loved supernatural thrillers ever since, even though it scared the bejeezus out of me. (Of course, it doesn't help that she said one of the characters reminded her of me, and to this day, I'm not sure if that was a compliment or a threat!).
I'm also very fond of Harlan Coben and Terry Goodkind (thrillers and fantasy, respectively).

Wow that's a great story. Looks like your grandmother had a little faith in you. That's great that we remember and cherish the moments that change our lives like that. The character she referred to as you, was it a good person or bad person, or a ghost of some sort?

I haven't read any of his books yet, I will have to try and do that here soon. I'm working on a books collection myself, Danielle Steel, over halfway complete.

My favorite author is Dean Koontz. I love his style of writing. I like that his books are suspenseful thrillers and there is usually some twist to the story. I think my favorite book of his is Midnight. I also really like the 'Odd Thomas' books.
I just recently started reading Stephenie Meyer's books and am really enjoying them. If her future novels stack up to the ones I've read so far, then I have a feeling she'll become a favorite of mine in the future.

I'm a big fan of Terry Brooks. If you like fantasy books, you'll love him. I think he is currently one of the most popular fantasy authors, and many compare him to Tolkien (some call him a rip-off, but hey, Tolkien was so good, I don't mind people emulating him). His Shannara books are honestly some of the best I have ever read. I love his Knight of the Word series, which is being tied into all his other books with his latest series.

This is a tough one for me. There are some of the old time actors I particularly like, such as John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart and Cary Grant. Regarding the actors today, I'm not sure. There are many fine actors, but in their personal life they come off as sleezy which makes them, for me, very unappealing. Tom Hanks does seem to be one of the exceptions - he's an excellent actor and a fine person. There are probably others, but they're not coming to mind.
My favorite book is also a hard choice since I prefer nonfiction. "To Kill A Mockingbird," and "Shane" are two faction books I particularly like. One of my favorite nonfiction books is "Ship of Gold In the Deep Blue Sea." It's about this treasure hunter and has a lot of the history of the treasure he's hunting.

My favorite is Ken Follett. I pretty much like all of his stuff but my favorite is Pillars of the Earth. I have read that book at least once a year for several years and now it is on Oprah's Book Club list. He has a new one that is set a couple hundred years after Pillars of the Earth called World Without End and I am almost finished with that one too. So good.
