Well after many attempts to add this photo I had to resort
to reducing it greatly in size. But it let it load finally. Hahahaha!
I was at the Minnesota Renassiance Festival on 8-30 (Saturday). Many things to see, enjoy, and participate in. One thing a person could participate in was a giant game of chess. It cost $5 per person to play a game. One could play with a friend or one of the Renassiance actors if they wished. I did not play but I sat to rest watching this young boy play. It was fun to see. Have you ever seen a chess game that was a lot bigger than a table model? Have you ever played one like this as well? Do you even play chess normally? I play chess with my son now and then. But have not played in a year or so.

I have seen one of these before. It was in a camp ground in North Carolina. It make the game a little more interesting.

At an old Hotel that is no longer in Downtown Minneapolis there was a live chess game played once a year. They had real people for the King, Quieen, Bishops, and pawns. Also real horses for the knights with Knights upon them etc. That was so cool to see. I miss seeing that one set up. The game board was like a small farm. Hahahaha!

I need to get back to playing chess, as I have not in years. I have never even seen the giant chess game. Studies show that people who play chess suffer from a lot less Alzheimers.

I used to play every day many years ago.
I even had a time when I did one of those tiournaments where I played 12 games at once moving from one board to another after each move. I can't recall how I did though it was so long ago. hahahaha!

I have heard of these giant chess boards but never have actually seen them with my own eyes, let alone play them, but I bet they must be fun to watch. I used to love chess and back in my school days I used to run a successful chess club! And I wasn't a pro but I really enjoyed playing. Trouble is I started to lose patience with it because it's a very slow game and unless you are playing with the timers/clocks then you have to sit there patiently as you contemplate your move and your oppositions next moves. I can't remember the last time I played chess must be more than ten years ago now!

That looks like so much fun! I would love to do that or even just see it. I use to play chess all of the time. All I have now is a chess board that is just for decorations. It's made completely of glass and I have it put up because I'm afraid my children my brake it accidently. I have thought about getting a chess game in which I can play though. Just haven't done so yet.

I've seen those giant chess games but never played them. Once in a while I'll play a game of chess if someone asks me but otherwise I don't. I find it rather boring.

When I am with one of my granddaughters I play chess with her. But it will be a long time until I play again as they just moved to New York state. She even took classes and was in tournaments....and she is only 8! I didn't get the opportunity to play when I went to the Renassiance festival...in fact I don't remember seeing it! LOL

The only chess I have ever seen is the normal board size. Wow though, chess, I have not played that game for years, not since I was at school. I taught myself and I used to be really good at it, I enjoyed a good game of chess. I reckon I would not even remember how to play it now!
