many of us have the thinking that by going to church, i will be going to heaven when i died. i am quite at loss as to whether i should go to church. i certainly do not have time for it. come share your views. if can convince me that going to church is the golden ticket to heaven, i would go there every weekend.

no, i do not think so. it is not mandatory to pray. to go to church is also not the only way to go to heaven. you just keep your heart clean. i know it is difficult, but try out. do not lie every time. try to avoid lies. but in a corporate sector, i suppose you are in there, you need to say lies to be in the job. so, the best way out is donate or give money to the poor and needy people on your way to office. let them make up at least one good meal. i think helping the poor is a far too superior way than going to church. the lord will definitely pleased with you...

uunnhhhh!!!!!! you never know what happens after you die. i have heard that good people become permanently transformed to angels. and to my knowledge, angels live in heaven. so, i think we are not sure. or do you have a different opinion????

I still believe that our faith is the only way of going to heaven. If we believe in God everything will follows. Doing good, being religious, and being responsible in our tasks as children of God. By being like that, we have a chance of going to heaven.

by having faith in god, and doing good, we can secure a seat in heaven. far better than just by going to church every weekend. totally agree with you.

Going to church isnt goin to save you a spot in heaven..Being true to yourself, your god etc and diong things right (by yours and his standards i guess) is what will...Church is just a place for ppl with common ground to gather..not unlike a bar or nightclub really...

Going to church does NOT equal your ticket to heaven. Church is, by and large, a man made thing. That's not to say it's BAD, although there are some churches that are certainly...well, not so good. There are many people who think that church is their ticket to heaven, so they do all manner of terrible things during the week, repent on Sunday, and then go back in that cycle again. They are not living their life the correct way - just because they go to church does not make them good, Christian people. Conversely, NOT going to church does not mean that you're going to hell and that you are a bad person.
If you want to get into heaven, the best thing you can do is to live your life the best you possibly can according to what God has said. Be loving, forgiving, understanding, compassionate. When you make a mistake, be truly sorry, and try not to do it again. Accept Christ and his sacrifice into your heart. THAT is the ticket to heaven, not sitting in a pew once a week listening to a mortal man talk (no disrespect meant to men of God intended).

Going to church is important because, once a week you can bask in the Holy Spirit and surround yourself with kindred spirits.
I don't go to church because I think it will save my eternal soul, I go because it helps to save my week.

Church is only a tool to help you to get to heaven. There is more to it than that. You have to treat people good and you need to have Jesus in your heart. Treating the people that you dislike as well as the ones you like. A building does not insure you to get into heaven. Your actions are what does that. If you are a person who believes in Jesus than your actions should show it and that is the way to get to heaven.
