I have been trying to update IE from 6.2 to 7 and can't do it. I have avast installed and running. I paused it but still can't update. DO you have knowledge with avast? Is that stopping my upgrade? Thank you in advance for your help :)

I was using avast for three months already and I don't have problems
with my online updates until now.
Have you check already whether your OS is capable of updating your IE to 7?
Please read some discussions from Microsoft as to how to update IE from 6 to 7
Also, I would recommend to use FireFox for a better, fast and safe browsing especially when doing mylotting.

I doubt that Avast will stop your update but think maybe your I.E. has some nasty spyware or virus that prevents it from updating. To be safe, try Firefox, its free and is 100% better than I.E. and doesnt get those nasty spyware crap unless you allow it despite all the warnings it gives you. Spyware is geared toward I.E. because Microsoft has too many holes in its programs that allow hackers and spyware. Also Firefox is faster at browsing too and has tons of add ons if you like.
