I thought it will be a good for me. I've slept early last night and felt really relaxed. I'm about to start the day right. Then I received a call from my relative. It was about 5 am here in the Philippines. I was preparing breakfast then. It was really a bad news. My cousin was rushed to the hospital and is nearly in a coma. She has been a diabetic since her younger years and last night, her blood pressure was really up and the also her sugar level. She blocked out infront of her kids. Then she was rushed to the nearest hospital and the doctor advised the family that if her blood pressure will not normalize, there is a possibility that she will be in a coma. After hearing that news, I then remember how her mom was. My aunt experienced that same situation before she died. I fear for my self too because we have a family history of being diabetic. I pity her kids. They're still young to understand the situation. I hope she'll recover from her attack. The whole clan is praying for her right now. We can't afford to loose another member again. I need your prayers guys. I know that if you're in my situation right now, you'll feel the same. Thanks in advance. Have you experienced this kind of situation in your family member? being worried of what will happen next? HUGZ to all!

I'm very sorry to hear this. My grandfather was a diabetic but he never experienced anything like that (my grandmother took care of him well). Diabetes can be very dangerous if not monitored correctly and can cause people to go into comas. To some who don't know anything about diabetes it is a very dangerous and life threatening condition..If not monitored and taken care of properly. I had a friend in high school that found out he had diabetes and for many years did not take care of his self.. He put off taking his insulin and didn't eat right..he ended up in the hospital a few times because of his neglecfulness. I really hope your cousin turns out fine and you and your family are in my prayers. if and when she gets out of the hospital be there for her..and Make sure she is taking care of her condition properly.

I'm so sorry to hear your news! I have already just said a prayer for your family. My grandmother is also diabetic and had the same thing happen to her last year. Fortunately, she was ok after a few days in the hospital, but I can remember how scared we all were for awhile. I hope that your cousin will be better soon and also that her kids will be all right. Try to stay positive! I hope everything will be ok for you all!

Yes Dhan! I well realise the situation of hypertension attack! Under such an attack, my mother also expired before eighteen years, when she was fifty one! It was all in a sudden, though she had symptoms earlier. "I PRAY GOD for the early recovery of your cousin. Let her kids have her affection again and may GOD offer them happiness resolving this situation!" Thanks for your informative and sympathetic discussion!

Hi che, we really do hope that she'll be fine soon. I have been very careful with regards to my diet since I was diagnosed when I gave birth to my 2nd son. I've been an ampalaya tea drinker for years now. And so far I've never been in to medication. Thanks for the prayers my friend. HUGZ!

I am sorry to hear about your cousin. I hope that she pulls through and makes a full recovery. I have never had a family member go in to a coma before. I am sure it would be very difficult for the family to deal with.

That's really bad :( Hope she can wake up from her coma and everything is fine ^_^ Looks like everyone in your family must take good care of yourselves and take note on the sugar intake.. Be careful on the things to eat as well as measure the blood pressure once every month or so.. Because being a diabetic, can have many other medical problems too, such as high blood pressure, as they are all connected together.. Here right now, i pray for your cousin to wake up form her coma soon and she will get well ^_^

I pray for her. Don't worry, as long as you are maintaining your healthy body and you did not ate too much food with sugar then I guess you are free from such to happen with yourself. Bear in mind, you have the control over it. Though the hardest part in here is the control, since it is difficult to control our food habit especially if it is really taste good with our sight. So keep avoiding too much foods with sugar especially soda and you will be fine.

Glad I don't drink soda and I don't eat to much sweets. But I think if it runs in the family, whether you are avoiding these foods, you'll be affected with it. I've been watching my diet since I was diagnosed of having a high blood sugar level and accompanying it with hypertension. It triggered when I gave birth to my 2nd son.

I am hoping things have improved for your Aunt by now, and things are more back to normal. From someone who is Insulin Diabetic, I know how Diabetic issues are important to monitor as well. I have had major issues in my life as well, and now am very cautious and testing at every move as well. Wishing the best.

Aww, I hope your cousin will be able to get through this... for her kids specially. I think this situation should make you aware of everything that is going on around you since you know that your family is diabetic. Be alert always. I will pray for your cousin. I hope she will pull through!. God bless you!

Things happen for a reason. Sometimes its hard to comprehend but God wanted us to do something thats why He allows some unnecessary things to happen. I already read your post after this one, I'm glad your cousin is now okay, hope and pray that she will recover totally soon. This is a reminder to all of us also, we need to take extra care with our health just to keep away from being sick.

Good day.. My prayer goes to your cousin, I hope she can recover. I know conditions like diabetes and hypertension can take it's toll if not controlled and with today's diet and environment the incidents for both this diseases is on the rise. I hope and pray she'll get well soon and the storm that is now on her family would clear the soonest time possible.

I will say a prayer for her and for the whole family. It is definitely hard and sad for any family to go through especially if little ones are involved.
