When was the last time you mom sings a lullaby to you? or when was the last time that she puts you to bed and read you a story? I know we are too old for that, but my mom and I, whenever she visits me and my family, would just lay in bed and talk about things, until we both fall asleep, i think it counts as reading story before bedtime.. what do you think?

Aw that was the sweetest thing. My mom has not ever sang me a lullaby, nor read a bedtime story. I think it was not a priority for her. I have not sang a lullably recently to my children, however I do play lullably's for them as they sleep and we sing fun songs in the daytime after we read a book.

That was long time ago my dear.I can't really remember because I was so still very young then but I saw how my Mom put me my younger brother in cradle and sing the lullably to put him to sleep. I believe that was the way she did for me when I was his age. But now my mother can no longer afford to sing lullaby for me as she was too old and recuperating from illness. It was I who would most oftentimes put him to sleep with my tender hand and soft songs. It's now my turn to do her as what she did to me. And I could also relate with what you were telling. Whenever I fail to visit my Mom for long, we also do talk a lot about different stories till the last hour in the evening. In fact our own stories are even more exciting than the bedtime stories we have been hearing for long.
There is no substitute to singing lullaby to a child and that is something that we should always do to our children. I think it really has power to bring a child into sleep. Don't you think so! Do you still remember this beautiful lullaby song that we heard from our mother and now we are the one singing to our own children? This is a wonderful song!
Lullaby, and good night,
With pink roses bedight,
With lilies o'erspread,
Is my baby's sweet head.
Lay you down now, and rest,
May your slumber be blessed!
Lay you down now, and rest,
May thy slumber be blessed!Lullaby, and good night,
You're your mother's delight,
Shining angels beside
My darling abide.
Soft and warm is your bed,
Close your eyes and rest your head.
Soft and warm is your bed,
Close your eyes and rest your head.
Sleepyhead, close your eyes.
Mother's right here beside you.
I'll protect you from harm,
You will wake in my arms.
Guardian angels are near,
So sleep on, with no fear.
Guardian angels are near,
So sleep on, with no fear.
Lullaby, and sleep tight.
Hush! My darling is sleeping,
On his sheets white as cream,
With his head full of dreams.
When the sky's bright with dawn,
He will wake in the morning.
When noontide warms the world,
He will frolic in the sun.

Hope you sing this song tonight to your loveable kids!

the last time my mom sings a lullaby to me was when i was about 4 years old. i immense my myself to her soft voice as i sleep. it was always a sweet moment to have my mom beside me as i sleep. it could just be a sense of security for a young child. as i grow older, the lullaby change to stories such as fairy tale were told. i would still listen attentively to all her stories. nowadays, i always sleep on my own. i am too old for a lullaby or a bed time story. but can do with some. =D
