Just to get this out of the way, I'm a big animal lover, and a semi-vegetarian (I still eat eggs, dairy, fish)
Now, I don't believe in animal rights, animals can't have rights. However, I do believe in animal protections.
I'm against animal cruelty of any kind, but I also don't like to see too much legislation that puts animal ownership out of the reach of lower income people. Whenever new legislation is enacted to protect animals, it affects people that don't have alot of money. Like requiring expensive medical procedures on a pet; many low income people and elderly would have to forfeit their pet if legislation like this is made law.
I feel an animal should share the same hardships (lot in life) as their owner.

I am very much for animal rights, people can be so cruel and they can't speak for themselves, they have a heart, and feelings and they feel pain, they have as much right to a good life as we do..animals just deserve to be loved...
