Lap or Desktop which is the best?

hi everyone one of my friend is planning to get a computer . he asked me which to why lap or desktop. i suggested him to buy a desktop,but he whiches to buy a laptop.
what to do. i said that laps are very delicate and must be used with care.
please help me in this regard..what should i suggest him?

Hi friend,I haven't used a laptop yet ,am using a desktop.Lap tops can be carried and you can do your work whenever and whereever you want.Thanks for sharing.Happy mylotting.

Laptops are generally more powerful for less money. They will have better cooling and will most likely have a faster hard-drive. A laptop for home use will need a cooling pad not to heat up, and it will cost much more to match performance. I have a laptop because I need to work everywhere, but for your same budget you can get much more from a desktop.

I think a laptop is more functional than a desktop unless you're a graphic artist and require a lot of space. But even with the lack of storage space, you can always use an external hard drive with your laptop. Not only can you take a laptop anywhere you go, it's compact size also makes it easier to set us in a new apartnment, in starbucks, or in school. SO I'm going with the laptop on this. I don't know how a clunky desktop can win over a laptop.

laptop or desktop.. it all depends on ones lifestyle.. if your friend travels frequently, i think a laptop is good for him.. now there are laptops that are designed to be desktop replacements (with their big screens).. my first laptop is an acer and i have it for almost 3 years now..
in terms of power and maintenance, a desktop is still better..

hi vijbas.. i do have personal computers an my home.. the purpose of buying plays an important role in choosing between the laptop and desktop.. if it is for official use and you will be travelling most of the time, then its wise to get laptop.. or else if for entertainment, especially games, then go for desktop

Depends on your friend's lifestyle. If your friend is always on the go, then a laptop is the best for him. A desktop is okay if he can wait until he gets home to use the computer. Desktops are way much too cheaper too. But I guess it really depends on the usage. There ARE laptops that are relatively cheap yet are made from good brands already.
