Can we achieve a better, more peaceful earth through music? Are the bands Hillsong United, Switchfoot, and the like doing good to make the world a better place?
What do you guys think?

Yes, I think it is
I mean, look what the Band Aid did in 1984: they opened people's eyes to the reality of millions of africans, when most part of Europe and North America enjoyed a prosperity never seen in the past decades
Yes, I think it can help to gather people together to make a difference and change their mind about today's society... that's pretty much my oppinion though!

I think its a good idea to open people's minds through music. Too bad the real players of helping the world change get less exposure.
There may be institutions like The Doctors Without Borders (MSF) but there are still not enough people taking their eyes to take in reality.
Fall Out Boy did a good job filming inhumanity in Uganda, which is mostly happening in the majority of the nations in Africa. Not to mention the war in Congo which is the highest life-paying conflict in the world.
I think the media should invest more in showing the mishaps happening in "the real world."
For the meantime lets all sit down feeling lucky were not in a situation they are in. Although we should never forget how they live their everyday lives. ~realities

hey, thanks for the BR!!
yes, you're right... artist with major fan bases should do something like The Jonas Brother and Miley Cyrus, their followers would do anything that they tell them... now I'm just joking, but its the truth... Xp

I definitely think that music is a very powerful tool that can change lives. However, I honestly have never heard of the bands you mentioned, so I can't imagine that their impact is all that strong right now.

Those bands I mentioned play Christian rock. So they're nice guys. Hehe.
Thanks for your response. I'd definitely like to know your interest in music if you don't know switchfoot and hillsong. Thanks. :)

I think so. It's definitely caused more people to be closer together over the years. And you can see this through how the styles of music is changing. Lots of artists these days incorporate different genres into their music to create something new. I think that sharing styles is important because that allows people to learn about other cultures.

Once upon a time music and artist were changeing the world. So so much now in the modern times since the music bussiness has become very corperate and as a whole artistic bands are on the decline. Hillsong United and Switchfoot are oonly scraping the iceberg of our humanity.I think if compoered to John Lennon , Harry Chapin to name a few these bands fall way flat.Their are many artist out therer who would vchange the world but the media is controlled by big bussiness and the room for real art is very small and the genuine world changers are not welcome in the club these days as the moral fiber of socity is slipping away in this Modern Dark age of art.

Oh, hello there. I'd like to ask this: If there are 3 religions in Malaysia, are there usual conflicts concerning these three?
I'm from the Philippines and there are 2 major religions out of so many. Christian and Muslim. And I see on Tv that they are always fighting.
Thank you for your response. :)
