Do you still own a bike?

It's been years since I last rode a bike. I first had my experience on riding a bike when I was 6 years old. I remember I almost fell in a man hole. My dad was teaching me how to ride a bike back then when he finally let go of me.. I thought I was going to fall but then I found my balance and voila! I officially learned to ride a bike. My family would often go to this park where we can rent some bikes for hours and we will all just ride the bike around. My sisters and I used to practice biking on our garage too, since we had a huge garage. But our house has been rennovated for years that's why we didn't have a garage anymore. When I became a teenager, my bike became too small for me that I couldn't ride on it anymore so my Dad gave it away. From then on, I didn't own a bike since. I only borrowed from friends and neighbors.
What about you, do you still own a bike? At what age did you learn how to ride a bike? Share your memorable stories.

I can't even remember when I learned to ride a bike! I remember My Mother getting me one in my early teens, and an over the handlebars incident with another bike at 16..I bought a cheap mountain bike some years ago which didn't get much use,and recently I discovered E-bikes..I've had one in regular use just over a year now,and I think they're great! My commute to work takes under 10 minutes in the car..On the ebike,it takes me 20! using the bike,What I've saved in the year by not using car or taxi has repaid over twice it's cost, and that's just counting commutes and shopping trips in the locality..I'd recommend one to someone considering getting back in the Saddle! It'll extend your range, and take away much of the effort on the hilly bits..

they seem to be getting more popular-at least,I thought I was the only one around here who had one,and recently saw another in a nearby town, and a local bike shop had one on display! Mine can be serviced as a regular bike, with it's shimano gears,20" wheels, and regular pedal setup..and it's a folding bike too,so can go in the back of the car! I'm even considering a bike transporter bag that'll let me take it with me if I travel by plane or bus..

Wow, I didn't know there was such a thing as E-bike?! Well, so much for cost cutting, it's worth it! Considering the hike of gas price.

I love cycyling and I just love my bike! I remember the first time that I learnt how to ride, I started cycling solo and my heart was pumping, the adrenalin was really going sky high! I now live for cycling and I would not have it any other way. I don't remember the age that I was when I had my first real experience of cycling. But, I know that cycling is good for you and I tend to cycle everywhere now. Have I had any crashes? I've had several but thankfully they were not all that serious, just a few scratches and bruising. As crazy as it sounds I even talk to my bike! I love my bike and I now treat it as a family member! I guess you have to look after it and show it that you care, otherwise you may find that you end up being involved in more collisions and accidents! When I purchased my current bike I wasn't all that aware as to the workings of the bike itself, I mean the maintenance side of things, and so I used to take the bike around to my local bike shop. The only problem was, I was being taken for a ride! There were things being done to my bike that were not necessary. So, I picked up a few good books on the subject of bike maintenance and bob's your uncle!! I now do all my own bike maintenance and I have never had a problem, the bike has always run smoothly. There's a lot to be said for educating yourself when it comes to bike maintenance. Anyway, I don't know how to drive, this is funny and I'm 33 years of age. Who needs to drive anyhow when you can cycle your way to good health!! Andrew

I very much do because I don't own a car or motorbike. I used it today to go shopping in the nearest biggish town in my area. It was a nice warm day and it felt good. It keeps me fit and trim; but sometimes I just shop locally which means I walk. My bike keeps me young.

I haven't owned a bike in about 30 years.
When I did I slid around a roundabout and got a lot of asphalt all up the side of my pants.
I was stopped by the police and threatened with being taken to court because I didn't have a light.
I had a bike stolen outside a cinema.
A good friend gave me a bike and then took it back.
Later on I rode a motorcycle for 11 years.

I have not rode a bicyle in so many years that would not know how to ride one now. I learned to ride a bike when I was about 8 years old, older than most kids that I played with. I had a hard time learing to ride that bike and it made my Daddy so mad at me. I was just so scared.

No, I don't.
I probably own a tricycle when I was a kiddie.
Nowadays I seldom go cycling. Can't find people to go with and going alone without your own bike is not that exciting.
I normally rent the bike from one of the rental stations at the beach-side parks.

I was about nine years old when I learned how to ride a bike. Getting that balance together was a real challenge I really did not have a bike as a child, there was one bike and my siblings and I shared it.
When I became an adult I bought a bike, and used to ride every now and then.
My husband and me were having a garage sale last month, and he wanted to sell the bikes, mine and his. I said you can sell your's, but I do not want to sell mine. He was like, you are never going to ride that bike, I said but it is mine, and I want to keep it.

when i was a kid, i always thought that i cant ride a bike! so every time my friend ask me to take a ride in his bike i say no im not in the mood or somthing!, but then i was alone and my brother's bike was with me, and i said im going to try it! i was so happy that i could ride it and asked my dad for a new bike,! i was biking everyday at least 1 hour, but then my cousin was riding it and he came back to the house and the bike was broken and i believe i didn't ride one since!
i always think about buying one now but i dont feel like im going to ride it because i have no time.
