Hi Sreekala,
I am quite interested in reading.
I read quite a lot and mainly, I like to read fantasy and science fiction books. I also pick up books on various topics that catch my eye.
English is the main language of my books. Sometimes I will read books in my mother tongue too but I find English books more interesting somehow.
Cheers!

I am never interested in reading. I tried many times, but I just not like it. What a pity. But I like watching TV and reading newspaper, that seem enjoyable for me. I also like reading news and short articles on the Internet, since I have a computer.

I have always loved reading and will pretty much read anything from novels to magazines if given half the chance! I unfortunately don't get the opportunity to read anywhere as near as much as I used to anymore though. I own very few books today as I travel so much but the ones I do have have been read and reread many times! I can only read in English too so you are lucky to be able to read in a number of languages.

Reading books is a passion for me. If I have time, given the choice, I would love to read books, magzines or newspaper or a novel, instead of watching TV or just sitting idle. Reading makes me enlightened on the various subjects and issue and it is like a mental excercise. I always feel that for sharing my views I must have before hand knowledge of any subject on which I'm going to write. Knowledge is gained through other's experiences and mainly through reading, as well. Since childhood, I was very found of reading children magzines and comics etc. Later on, I switched over to novels and story books (Hindi and English both). I love to read novels and self help books on various subjects ranging from psychology to philosophy and from sports to health.

Reading helps to attain immense knowledge. I do agree that when we want to share our views we have to gather the information about the subjects and reading really helps it. I appreciate that you are finding out time for reading instead of watching TV. I think TV plays a significant role in reducing the reading habits of people. But some of you are still likes to read. Thanks and enjoy your reading.

Yes I am interested in reading. But unfortunately I could not spare the time for reading the books or such other material or stuff of reading. You asked about the reading of books in mother tongue. Of course, mother tongue is the first language of every person. The person born listen and learn his or her mother tongue first. mother tongue is our right from the day of our birth. We should give the first preference to our mother time and we should learn more and much languages. Hindko is my mother tongue which is being spoken in our place. Urdu, Pashto, Punjabi, Persian are other languages which we use to speak, read, write and understand. English is the language which could be spoken on world wide. I think every language is sacred and good. We should learn and try to speak, but it is not possible and it is also possible.

Hi Sheenshaukat,
Yes, time is the main problem with everybody. I too read very less due to lack of time. I agree with you our mother tongue is always precious. If a person is proficient with his/her mother tongue then he/she can learn other languages very easily. Every language is good and we should respect all.
Thank you very much for the participation.
Have a nice day.

Hi Koala,
I am happy to know that you love reading. I think people are more interested in reading on a language they feel more comfortable. You must proficient in English. Now I am reading books for my kids, yes, story books for them. I can't find out time for reading or may be my interest is less on reading.

they are only interesting to those with an open mind (or those who are actually literate ), and sadly, there are quite a few here. kids these days would rather read harry potter. go figure. story telling has always been an excellent way to present facts and even give reader experience and awareness in many science disciplines, eg in engineering, management, marketing, business, etc., the book tells a story (case study) to give the reader a sense practical experience, knowledge and facts.

I love reading! I just read an entire book today, actually. I love the teenage drama books, or the fantasy books. One of my favorite series is "Cirque Du Freak". And I have to read books in my mother language, because it's the only language I know well enough to read an entire book in.

I really enjoy reading, but all the books I read are in English. I don't really read books in Filipino, and I only did while I was in school because it was required of us. I would admit that aside from having little interest in reading books in Filipino, I lack proficiency in the language. Same with Chinese books, but I do read comic books in Chinese, which is Lao Fu Zi.

Hi Sreekala! I really love to read books and other prints. Ever since I was young, I already appreciated people who gave me books as a gift or present. Reading books help me exercise my mind. I am able to think. I love it because I feel like I am going to different places, traveling to different time, meeting people from all walks of life. In reading, you discover a lot of things. You also learn a lot from the books which you read. I prefer reading English books more because of their nice stories.

I like to read novels, classic and contemporary. The books expand to me different scenes over the world, and different people of the past and the present. Just like travelling overseas and at home, they enrich my knowledge and indirect experience. My favorate is novels about simple and leisure life, which help me to get smarter and happier.

Hi zhuhuifen,
In the busy world many are forgetting the reading habit. Popularity of internet also distracts people from the reading habit and many are switched to read articles in net too. It is also true that many have the good habit and still buying books and collecting the same for future reference.
Thanks for joining.
