Survivor is another franchised show by GMA 7, they have American Idol first and now they have survivor. Let's admit this, Pinoy Idol wasn't and has never been 'hit' in the television. It is somehow forgettable... They haven't reached the expectations of the Filipino viewers of what is an IDOL all about. I'm just wondering if you'll gonna watch Survivor Philippines... I think Paolo Bediones is a great host, he can carry the show well...
What can you say about this show?
Thanks in advance...

I think Survivor Philippines will get the attention of many Filipinos and foreigners because it is different from talent shows like Pinoy Idol. Unlike Pinoy Idol, Survivor Philippines features our country's lovely environment and her strong-willed people.
Here is a link to the Survivor Philippines' official website: http://www.survivorphilippines.com/
Screenshots of the 18 castaways have been posted on this site.

I have thought of the same thing, it is a reality show... A 'real' reality... A lot of Filipinos love adventures and all stuffs related to it, watching survivor is one of it... Good luck to Survivors...

I think many shows which was franchised or copied from other countries except for some have never make it big or become hit here in the Philippines. You are very right in saying that some of them (or most of them) have become forgettable. I hope that the writer of the shows here in the Philippines would not make the shows too much glamorous (or showbiz) and really make it interesting to watch. I think that the success of this show would largely depend on the participation and cooperation of the castaway members (including their personalities because Filipino loves beautiful contestant) and the writer to make this reality shows acceptable to the Filipino viewers.

i dont think survivor is a big show in our country. first of all, MTRCB is very strict on any shows, once you show your underwear or bra, you will get suspended. remember, survivor is in the island and they can do what ever they want like being naked, half naked, kiss or what, and if they do that, MTRCB will punish or suspend gma network...not like in america, they dont have mtrcb and it is not really strict compare to us...maybe its a big hit but we will see them wearing a lot of clothes...

if they focus on the quality of the show rather than the quantity of peso bill in the network's pocket, there is a big chance that it'll be big.
no offense meant, but the Pinoy Idol is a flop. they rushed into getting it rolled out, ended up getting talents the shortest time.
I hope Bediones can in a way influence a quality in the show. He is the host and he does his job greatly. However, what the production says, the host follows. hopefully the people working on the Survivor Philippines would be loyal to the original concept of Survivor...it's one of my favorites, so Dear God, do justice to our version of the show. =)

I am an avid fan of survivor before but after a couple of seasons, I just got bored with it. I think not so many Filipinos watch the orginal Survivor and I don't knoow what GMA 7 will do to make it more appealing to the masses. I think the reason why Pinoy Idol didn't make a mark in Philippine TV is that it was trying so hard to match and keep up with American Idol but they just couldn't. Another is that the host was so lousy that he doesn't have a connection to the audience and to the constestants. Add to that the judges of the show.
But I guess GMA 7 made a right decision of choosing Paolo Bediones as the host of the new show. We all know that Bediones is a good host and that he has made shows like this before. I just hope that their challenges are just as great as the original. I don't know if they will put a touch of being Pinoy to Survivor. Well, let's just wait and see if it will be a hit. GMA surely invested alot in this franchise, goodluck to them.

Well at least Paolo Bediones is better suited for the job than the over-rated Raymond Gutierrez, who never seemed like he could relate to the contestants. Anyway, maybe Survivor will fare better than Pinoy Idol because the guys there aren't out to become stars. Like the title, the goal is to SURVIVE. Of course, they'll be richer for it. I just hope they put more emphasis on the tasks and not simply play around with the people like it were another PBB.

I have been a fan of the Amerrican Survivor series although I have lost touch on it lately. It is pretty interesting to watch the survivor Philippines version that is if they can make it as interesting as the American versions. I hope they can find interesting people to join. Actually I think it depends on the participants that determines whether the show can catch the attention of the viewing public or not. They should make it as interesting as possible.
