I think, public schooling is better... the student can learn how to mingle with different kind of people... and they can be able to showcase their talents and experience a healthy competition.

I think to say that public school is better based only on the socialization argument, is more than a bit naive. It is much more important to compare educational issues rather than social issues because the lack of socialization fears can be easily dealt with.

I am a primary school teacher. I think that children mix with other people in school and at home this might not happen. Some home educators are knowledgeable and can get on easily with their child giving them an excellent education at home. I have the necessary knowledge to teach 3 to 11 year olds but I don't think I could teach my teenage son Maths or Science. I think one advantage of home schooling is the children would not hear bad language in the playground. I know two girls that are home schooled and they go to France very often so they can speak excellent French. They do lots of cooking and can play musical instruments. They can write lovely stories and read quite difficult books. The older one had one year at a primary school and the younger one only knows home schooling. When I was in Western Australia I visited the School of the Air. Children living in remote areas were able to have lessons through a radio link. Schools vary and so do homes, it depends on the quality, that will show which is the best.

I believe that public and home schooling, both are very important.
In public schools a child learns how to communicate with strangers
and gets to interact with other kids and make friends.
And the strict timmings and teachers can have a good influence on the child.
As for home schooling is also important because
at home you know what your childs deficiencies are, so you can focus on
the childs weak spots and help the child to improve in those areas.

I think it's interesting how those that don't homeschool seem to assume that homeschooled kids don't socialize with other kids. There are many, many opportunities for a homeschooled child to socialize with other kids their own age. For example, my son and I are a part of a homeschooling group that regularly gets together for field trips, fun, lessons, etc.
There are many other ways to get your child out into society - volunteering, after-school activities, sports, clubs, etc.
While others seem to think that socialization is the hardest part about homeschooling, I actually see it as one of the easiest.

i really think kids need to be in school w/other kids. of course there is so much meaness going on now in the schools i can see why people homeschool. i wouldn't have been smart enough to homeschool mine.
