I just got my braces on two weeks ago, I am 27 years old. I smile all the time except after I eat because the food gets all stuck up in there. I will have them on for a little over a year and I am soooooo excited to have a great smile!!!

I would smile if I have braces on. It is quite acceptable to have braces and many people do have them. This is because we use them to arrange our teeth in nice order. However, if I have no teeth, then I would smile without opening my lips. That way people would not notice that I have no teeth. Having no teeth is not quite accepted by majority of young people because people want to look attractive at this age. If I'm old and have no teeth, I would smile and I think it's funny and entertaining.

I thought braces are cute! In fact, in some countries, it's sort of a fashion statement where instead of having the dull braces, they've got the nice looking ones. Can't remember-think it's Japan ot Taiwan ??

Never had braces. There is no stigma attached to braces. If you keep your teeth brushed so food does not get stuck in them, why not smile. No teeth, that's a different story. I have had dental work done on my front teeth, and that was no fun. I did not smile a lot while that was going on. The temporary teeth were not pretty. I don't think I would have wanted to open my mouth at all if I had no teeth at all in front. I see people who have missing teeth and they seem to get over it. I guess if you have no money to get them fixed, you do what you gotta do. It is sad, tho.

Smile is smile whether its with braces or without braces. It hardly makes any difference, the main thing is your spirit, so keep it alive.

Braces would be no big deal to me. Now, if I didn't have any teeth in this day and age, THAT would bother me. I would save up enough money to get them fixed. But again, I would still smile no matter what because people that are judging you by how your smile looks instead of what your smile is saying are not worth trying to impress in the first place.

Is that why you posted this? So that you can raise the money to afford dentures?
