The legal working hours in my country are 8 hours, from 8:30am/9:00am to 5:30pm/6:00pm,with 1 or 2 hours lunch times. However, the actual situation is entirely different. Most of us work 10 or more hours, say spending over time in office. It'll be unusual for some one to leave office before 6:30pm,say most of us here will have 9 hours more working hours per day. It's not good`~How about you guys? Thanks for sharing~

I don't know what the legal working time of my country are, and I'm not working either, but I see people working 12 hours at a stretch and I don't know how they tend to pull it off. They are worse than the military and they keep working like lab rats all the time without a break for fun or leisure. I hope I do not get into such a company which will make me work like that.

Exactly. They work to survive, but then again, their work becomes their life. They fail to realise that there are so many things that can be enjoyed.

I stay in the office from 2pm to 11pm. That's 9 hours all in all. My break time is already included there and that's an hour of free time. Sometimes, I go over time. I mean, I still work after 11pm, finishing some important things to do.

9am to 6pm for me here (as stated on my contract with the company ). But in actual fact, I usually stay till 6.30 almost everyday, and the best part about it? We don't get overtime pay for this additional half hour unless we work overtime until after 7pm. Our overtime pay only starts from 7pm onwards. So that is 1 hour of free overtime for the company. Smart eh?
So, us employees are even smarter. Lol, we come in at exactly 9am, but we won't start work exactly at 9am as we know definately most of times, we would have to stay back to work overtime, but yet this overtime would never ever exceed 7pm, so we don't get paid for that additional 1 hour of work.
Hehe, so we come into the office at 9 am and only start work at 10am. During that 1 hour of time where we are 'working', we are actually drinking tea, surfing the internet and just doing our personal stuff. And when the boss comes in at around 10am, all of us would be dilligently working by that time! Lol. The company thought that they had us, but in fact, it is the other way round!!

My office working hour is from 8:30am to 5:30pm. But i usually will be in the office at around 7:45. Because if i reach late, there'll be no free parking for me and i have to go for the "pay" parking.

Same as you, but 8 hours a day is official. We have to leave after 8 hours work is done. That is our working condition here. If I have to stay over time, they have to pay me the over time money. That is said under the clause of laws. No advantage is taken.
