When do you start preparing for Christmas? My daughter's birthday is at the end of August, so I start trying to find Christmas gift ideas and putting in layaways around the first of September. IF not, we start saving money the first of September and then go out shopping on Black Friday! The day after Tthanksgiving!

We used to wait to buy until closer to Christmas time but this year we have already started!!!! I'm excited about it, I love Christmas but it can be a financial strain. I'm hoping by buying early and spreading the cost out this year it will make things less stressful.

We spread it out or start saving to reduce the financial strain. That is the most upsetting part of the holiday! :( I also try to shop around and online to find the item I want at the cheapest place! Good Luck this year!

Last year was the first time I had gone shopping on Black Friday, me and my oldest daughter went out, started at midnight lol. We found some good bargains and we had a great time. I normally don't really start getting in the Christmas mood til Thanksgiving dinner is over and done. Then I'm ready to bring out the decorations and start the Christmas shopping. I do a little before that if I find a good deal on something I wanted to get a particular person on my list.

I agree. We start shopping early, but the decorations go up at Thanksgiving time. We put our decor. up the weekend after Thanksgiving. We help put up my mom's after her dinner on Thanksgiving Day! Thanks for your reponse!

I usually start shopping around the middle of September. By the time Halloween is here I am just about finished. I avoid the crowds that way. I also do a fair bit of shopping online. No muss no fuss, no rush!

I like shopping online as well! I love the crowds, it feels more Christmas-y. I just hate when the crowds are rude- that's when I get annoyed! :) Have a great weekend!
