This happens to everybody. Sometimes our brains just get fried and go on strike. Hopefully, it doesn't last too long. But unlike some talents, creativity isn't something you can turn off or on. It's there or it's not. One technique you might try is working on something else. Something completely unrelated to the problem at hand. This is good for two main reasons. One, it helps alleviate the burnout and frustration you are experiencing right now. Two, it allows your mind to work on the problem in the background. Has it ever happened to you that you can't remember something, then two hours later it comes to you in a blinding flash? Creativity can be a bit like that too. Another technique is to start writing about the fact that you can't write. Seems stupid, but as you get into the flow, ideas start coming allowing you to formulate the article. Write about your research, what you did, what you found. Soon, an article should emerge from your ramblings. Then you can get down to business. If all else fails, find your muse and rough him/her up a little until he/she gives you what you want. :)

Tip of the tongue syndrome. It's so frustrating when you're sitting there and the story's there. It's locked away, you can feel it around the edges but you can't get your hands around it and onto the page. Hope you got it done. When things like that happen, you have to let them run their course, but that's the hardest thing to do.
