Going from two incomes to a stay at home mom

I'm expecting our fourth child in a few weeks and tommorow will be my last day at my job. My husband and I have decided that I will stay at home with the baby like I did with the older kids, but now that the day for that is here my husband is freaking out. The economy was different the last time we lived on one income and we're both worried that it won't be do-able. We have always followed a pretty frugal lifestyle, but I'm looking for any advice/suggestions that anyone has that I might not be aware of on how to save or make money. All tips are appreciated! Thanks

It may sound gross but don't use deposable diapers they are bad for the enviroment and very expensive. Use cloth diaper instead. They have new ones now that you can buy that are better than regular cloth ones at www.happyheiny.com.

Thanks for the link I'll check it out. We used cloth diapers with our first child, but only because they were a baby shower gift so I don't know what the cost was. Again thanks for the link

I have to be true it is very difficult for a mom that too a nursing mom to work outside , i think for 3 months or something you can do some online jobs and after 3 months or 4 you can just leave the baby to your hubby and go for any part time jobs on your weekends and try to join the same job your doing now after 10 months or something

I think this will be a stop gap arrangement for the child and family and during this period you have shed your income for a few months to look for the new born to grow up to be able to be left at day care center. I think if you had you both managed to save for the rainy day there must not have any problem. You can also see some legitimate data entry job or writing resumes from which you can supplement the family income to manage the time. Because both of u were at least aware for this think to happen and you might had thought some thing over it.Any way have a nice day and comment.

Have you thought about becomming a childminder working from home? As you will be at home looking after our own child this can bring in a good second income.

You can look for a part time job on weekend where your husdband can take the baby for you. This will help pay for the grocery and the utilities. During the week you can do some work on line. Add me as your friend and pm me if you are interested. I can give you some tips how to earn some money online. It does take time and discipline. That is why I advice you to find a part-time job first.

while its not impossible to do, its not that easy either. i have a few suggestions for you. clothing/toys wise, shop at thrift stores - i got a very nice guess jacket at a thrift store for $4- and i have also managed to get brand new stuff there too. food - plan your meals for a week and only shop for what you need for those meals. also try to find an discount grocery store - they dont have the selection perhaps, but their prices are much cheaper!
