Advice and Tips on How to be an Effective Music Promoter

Hello everyone! Thanks for reading this post.I am starting out as a new Music Promoter.I Know of numerous bands that i can get to perform at different venues.Is it best to book a band with a gurantee or do a door split deal? Or both? Do I book the bands at local bars,or do I rent a venue and sell tickets? Thank you for reading this post,and any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated.
