is it more convenient to know what's the face of your chatmate?

chatting became my life since last summer arrived.
last summer, i was chatting for 10 hours everyday.,
it became part of my life..
it's just started when i found my summer quite boring..
i tried again to open mIRC..and fortunately, i found it interesting..
new people became my friends.. and we talked many things about their lives and experiences..
it's just a matter of months before i came to ask myself about their faces..
well., isn't it important to see what your chatmates look like??
it seems much safer and convenient for me..
not only they can't fool you., it's more interesting if you know their faces..
for example., a boy pretending to be a girl cannot fool you if you ask first for a photo., or even other proofs..=)
do you think the same way?

It depends on my purpose of having a chat. I mean, while I only want to have some fun, I don't need to see the person's face. I don't mind just to have some chat for one day and disappear the next day. But if I have talked with this person for weeks or months and start to get it personal, maybe I would be so curios about my chatting partner's look.

It is a nice feeling to know that even if during chatting you don't see the face of your chat mate it's imbedded in your mind and you can picture them while talkling, a con of that though is that this also means that the picture depicted in your mind is what the person actually looks like and not what you picture in your head for them, a sort of a fantasy perhaps, if you get to see them that fantasy disappears.
Another is that it is rooting to know that in your mind, you know that person you are talking to coz you've seen them already.
A boy pretending to be a girl, hmmm.. that's a common thread here in our place, you're right in that aspect but mind you, they also tend to send pictures of their female friends or some unknown actress that has an accessible pic online... hahahaha... but well, it's better to attend grand eb's in order to see all these people for real. ^_^
