Crusts will make your hair curly Carrots will make you see in the dark Eat your greens or you'll get warts Eat your spinach and you'll get strong Chew it properly Don't play with your food How do you know you don't like it if you haven't tried it? There'll be no pudding till you've eaten everything on your plate Waste not, want not Eat that up, don't you know there are straving children in India who would love that?

My mom never used those on me. It was always understood that we ate what was put in front of us or we did not eat.

I never would eat my vegetables and when my mum said that the starving children would be glad of it, I used to tell her to send it to them. Needless to say, I got many a cip around the ear for being cheeky. I said all the same things to my children and now they in turn say them to my grandchildren

I hear that.. but have you heard this.. My grandmother had this apple tree out back of her house and she always told me, when I was young and flat chested, that if I ate apples I'd grow big apples. I wish I never ate so many apples..LOL.
