Why woman bites her lips?

i think they are trying to be sexy.

Before the advent of lipstick, women bit their lips to make them redder, therefore more attractive. I don't know why they might delibertly bite their lips now. I do not find it at all attractive.

I think I usually bite my lips when I'm really thinking about something. I also have noticed that I do it sometimes when I'm really worried. I'm not really sure why, but if I'm kind of nervous or unsure about something, then I just naturally will bite my lip. I think maybe it's a natural reaction, sort of like how some people bite their nails or something, lol. I didn't know that men liked it so much though! Maybe I should start doing it around my husband more often! hehe

Let me tell you, biting my lip has become an all out annoyance to me, because I do it! I do not know how I ran into this awful habit and wish very much that I could stop it, I have to use SO MUCH chapstick to keep my lips moist because I bite them too much and I think this breaks down the nature moisture barrier of your lips because biting encourages more licking of your lips i think. My mother was such a nail biting and I always thought that was disturbing but I think my habit is worse. I found that I do it when Im nervous about something or just have something pressing on my mind, like a hard decision to make. I do think lip biting is just like any other body gesture but maybe it goes more unnoticed, i hope so, because when Im nervous I cannot even stop my lip biting even though it must look awkard to people. Don't get me wrong, my lips are not all mangled up looking thank goodness but it does require more maintenance to keep them in shape because of it. I found that Burts Bee's honey chapstick works the best.

Most of women bite thier lips, for me, it shows emotion, form of seducing and for other just a fashion.I do sometimes bit my lips and i didn't mean to do that and sometimes i bit it when im in pain and hold my self from crying.!cheers

I too admire at seeing woman biting at their lips..its really a tempting nature for a man. as you said it bunch of love,emotions and a show of glamour too. I have too noticed many woman doing so and i too like that so.

my husband says i bite my lips when i am in deep thought, and yes, he says he finds it sexy. so i pretend i am always in deep thought but i must say that it's not only women who bites their lips. my husband bites his lips unconsciously when he is playing his guitar, and i find that sexy, too
