It is my plan to expatriate from America. If I can gain dual citizenship or even other citizenship with a country that is in the EU all the better.
I would not necessarily need a quieter existance. I love what America used to be, but since the signing into law the Military Commissions act 2006 by Bush, this is no longer a civilized nation. Kidnapping, imprisonment without due recourse, torture and even murder are legal now. It is on a par with 1930's rise to power of Hitler in Germany.
The RFID's (radio frequency identification ) rules going into effect (which the ranchers fought over having their cattle tracked by) mean that we do not treat our visitors as well as we treat our cows.

might be a real eye opener, but don't stop there, read the Guardian from England, the Christian Science Monitor from the US, the Beijing Review from China, the Utne Reader from Canada, the Populist and every other publication you can find that will help to open your eyes to the demise of the United States as a civilized nation.
