do you have to have money to make you happy?

i wouldn't say i do now money is nice to have but its not what makes me happy, i could be happy no matter what as long as i had my family.what about you?

Since my survival depends on money, ....I need at least enough money to provide me with shelter, food, and cloths. Once my basic needs are met, ...I don't believe I need huge amounts of money to make me happy.
Have you ever read Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Before I can reach a level of deep contentment I must first meet my basic survival needs. I am going to spend 100% of my time trying to meet those needs before I can enjoy the simple things such as going to the park, ....enjoying just watching a sunset.
Hm I am getting to serious here. It is a hard question to answer though.

i agree we all need money to a point to survive but it shouldn't stop you from just going to the park or watching a sunset thats priceless.you should live while your alive.thanks for responding

You're absolutely right. My husband and I have always lived within our means. We enjoy many things that cost nothing, ....or very little. This morning we went to Hyvee (a grocery store) and had breakfast with our 3 children and our grandchildren.
We have 5 grandchildren and 1 more on the way. Three of the grandchildren are 2 years old, 4 months old, and 5 months old. The breakfast is cheap, .....but the time together is priceless. I respond in extremes sometimes, ......but I really agree totally with you. Thanks for the question. karen

So many people count their happiness due to how much money they have, and the old adage says money can't be happiness. So many of us are guilty of wishing we had more and we take for granted what we already have. We have to count our blessings and be thankful for what we have. Look at the poorer people in the world they can be just as happy as the richest man! It's how you value life, life is priceless, and even the richest person can be unhappy!

i know this is RIGHT! i know and have known some of the richest people in america, and there $$$$$$ have never made them whole .... the can't by a personality or even there HEALTH ..................... just remember money isn't everyting.................. ;-)

I think make happy is not depend with how much money do we have. According to me is happiness came with we are near with our family and best friends.
Money is only thing to make us survive. withour money we can buy food then we will die. We won't able to beg continuously with our family or best friends.
So I think the most happiness life if we are surround by our trusted people.

yeah the only thing we need money for is bills and there is nothing happy about having to pay them and i agree it does cause problem.thanks for responding

Its nice to have money but money isnt the key to everything so i would have to say no i dont need money to be happy. The main thing that makes me happy is my boys and thats enough for me.
