Am I getting fired?

Day before yesterday, I told my boss I wasn't comfortable doing any more personal tasks for him. I am a booking agent and admin assistant for a restaurant group, and in the past month, my boss has had me buy him shoes, buy his grandmother a get well soon card, return merchandise for him at Home Depot, try to negotiate a lower home insurance payment, etc... It got to the point where I was drowning under a sea of work and he was asking me to still keep doing these things.
So, as I mentioned, I told him I wouldn't do them any more. Then, yesterday, he told me he wanted me to write up a job description of my duties and give it to him. I'm leaving tomorrow for a week-long cruise and I'm wondering... am I getting canned? Doesn't it sound like I am?

If he fires you, you take him straight to court! You are a booking agent and admin assistant, not his slave. My boss used to do that, I had to fetch her lunch, buy her nephew a gift, take her husbands prescription to the pharmacy

Sucks, doesn't it? Picking out a gift/card is the worst when you don't know the person or love them...
You say "used to": she doesn't ask you to do that any more, or she isn't your boss still?

she is not my boss anymore, I quit and am self employed now, i think i would have killed her if i had stayed any longer! I hope that it all turns out ok for you

yeah, yeah, it sort of does sound like he's trying to find a good way to fire you. However, if you were already buried in a sea of work, he'll see that you actually for alot more than just his personal errands. Also, even if you don't get fired, I would look for another job where I am treated with more respect than what your boss is showing you. So, maybe you can find another job and quit before he fires you. Good luck!

thanks for the response! As you mentioned, I do need to start evaluating my prospects elsewhere. I think now that I'll have more time to do my own job, I will be leaving work at a more reasonable hour and will thus have time to actually look for a better job.

yeah totally!!!! I mean, at my job, it's very easy to get fired and in tourble because there's only one owner, and he's kinda crazy. So, I ALWAYS have prospects open, but I stay still because honestly the work is super easy and I'm super lazy, lol.
