What do you think is more important? scent or location? scent cover your scent allways. what do you think about this. Im am a avid hunter and love the outdoors and would like feed back on this matter.

They're both important, for different reasons. If you aren't in the right location, scent may not help. Yes, a buck in rut will head towards scent of doe estrus, but if there is more elsewhere that is closer, yours won't matter. Location is very important, but again, if there is scent leading him OUT of that area, your location isn't going to matter. Watch for sign (rubs, scrapes, spoor, hoofprints, etc), see where they're traveling, put scent around that area, and sit your butt down somewhere in the vicinity with a good shooting lane.

Oops, cover scent. Of course cover scent is important, but if there is a buck in rut, your scent probably won't be as important. He's on a mission! Having said that, I was always careful to wash my hunting clothes in special soaps and didn't use hairspray or lotions or anything. Also sprayed cover scent around boots and outer clothing.
