I have been stuggling with giving up for along time. I can stop for a few days but feel like I am going crazy and I spend just as much money on soft mints.

I've quit smoking twice. Once for two years. and currently for 3 1/2 months. All I did was quit cold turkey. BUT I'm also a pot smoker. I smoke pot like 2 or 3 times a day. as apposed to smoking 9, 10, or a pack of cigs a day. Remember It takes 3 days for nicotine to leave the body. everything else is mental. One thing that helped me the first time was playing a Gameboy Advaced SP. It really helps during those 5 minutes of boredom that you could actually be smoking a cig. lol

There's no top tip, nor any secret. Just will power. I was 13 when I had the courage and will to stop. It was tough, I felt like dying, I felt painful to breathe, I felt that no one has went through this pain like I did. I felt that it was too terrible and hard to even try to keep shaking. If a 13 year old kid was able to do it, why aren't you able to do so? If you really can't handle it, there's one more thing I can advice you on. Talk to the people you love, or people who love you. Talk to them about trying to stop smoking. Gain their support, grab their attention, get yourself a reason to continue.

I quit around 2 months ago and it helps to eat some snack or drink tea/decaf coffee whenever I get the urge. And I still get them after 2 months, I'm just determined not to start again.
