Writers Like James Hadley Chase and Michael Dibdin who always keep you on edge are no good, they often make mistakes in their composition and their plot is always weak based on rare chances and assumptions. The sequences they describe are not always genuine, in order to keep you thrilled they always keep the tricks handy to twist the events in an unlikely way. And their story always run in an unnatural and factless manner. Contrary to that, you can take John Jakes for instance. He is a writer who would not thrill you, keep your nerves in place, you will read just a few pages and you will be glued to the pages all the while loving it. You will feel that he is telling you an actual biography, a saga and when the book ends you will wished you have not ended it yet. After a couple of months, it will be the same new book to you that you have already read, read it again and you will learn certainly new things from it. Take his first book in this trilogy for instance, North & South, I guarantee that the first page will take you way deep into the book and you will realize that you have been missing on something very useful so far.

You might have heard of Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton, Robert Ludlum and all those who have written for TV serials or commercial films. It takes a book reader to know these persons. And maybe you have read different kind of authors i.e., Earl Stanely Gardner, Agatha Christie.
