I think he chose Palin just to try to get female and conservative votes. I really don't think it was meant as an insult to Hillary. I don't think she was really even a factor in his decision but I do think they have a chance of winning the election just because people are willing to vote for a candidate they don't like just because they belong to a political party.

Well, he might have decided on Palin to help sway the undecided due to Palin is Female, but honestly, I do not see why Hillary would feel insulted. Maybe a little confused, but not insulted. I think Hillary and Obama are too different to be together, but at the same time, Palin has no real experience so I feel that McCaine could have chosen better there as well. Just my thoughts.

Not at all. The more I get to know this woman the more I see why he picked her. She's really something. If she was a man with her experience and what she has done just for her state, I would feel the same way. Not all woman were for Hillary Clinton, and you can not make me believe that Hillary really supports Obama. She knows he's bad for this country. The real insult to Hillary is the way her own party treated her, and her being taken out of this race replaced by a smug inexperienced individual that has no place running. Palin is not a replacement for Hillary in the eyes of the voters anymore than Obama is. Palin is a very smart woman with drive and with a record of making change happen, anyone like this would be a great candidate for VP. I think the McCain/Palin have what it takes to win this election and I think they have what it takes to really help Americans.

I don't think it's as much an insult to Hillary than an insult and VERY condescending to Hillary's supporters and women in general. Absolutely, I think it was to sway the female vote and I'm offended that McCain or whoever within his party or campaign had to nerve to think even a few women who supported Hillary would in a million years switch their vote to McCain because of Sarah Palin being his V.P. Can someone name ONE issue on which Clinton and Palin agree? No, I can't either...
I sure hope they can't win the election but I see their ploy now is to keep her away from the media, or maybe I should say keep the media away from her. Who has ever heard of a candidate in a Presidential election, on the top or bottom of a ticket, who wouldn't grant any interviews or appear on any of the Sunday talk shows or cable news networks? If it were a Democratic candidate doing this I have not doubt there would be all kinds of allegations and accusations of "having something to hide" or being "afraid of tough questions". With Palin, she's not afraid of TOUGH questions, she's afraid of ANY question.
