I was feeding him peanuts and he accidentally bit my finger! it's a small bite and i put peroxide on it right away and wash it off with soap. Also i was reading online that it's almost impossible that a squirell carries rabbies, but what should i do?i don't wanna go to the er (i don't have insurance).Has this ever happened to you ?what did you do? should i be worried?i am worried

Well I can say with all certainty that I have never been asked the question of what to do when bitten by a squirel. I agree with the others here though, if it drew blood see doctor. I know you said you don't have insurance, but do you have a family Dr. you could call just to get advice? And one last thing, if you don't mind me asking, what were you doing feeding squirels? I don't mean that rudely. Hope you feel better!

Rabies is probably the least of your worries. You are more likely to get tetanus or Weil's disease from a squirrel. If he broke the skin, you should definitely see a doctor for a tetanus injection.

Oh No! If it drew blood, I would definately see a doctor. But if it was just a nip, I think it should be ok if you keep it clean. Hope it gets better.

Wow! I bet that was scary! How long has it been since you had a tetanus shot? If it was in the past year or two, I wouldn't worry about it unless you start to feel sick or strange or develop a fever. If it has been say, 10 years since you had a tetanus shot, then you might want to suck it up and pay for a clinic. Definitely don't go to the ER though unless you are really sick and worried for your life. They will charge you so much more and you will have to probably wait for hours! Find a MedCenter or a clinic maybe in the morning where you can go and just have someone look at it. They usually charge a lot less. Hope you are feeling okay!

If the squirell broke skin and you are bleeding then In all honesty, I think you should go see a doctor. I know its hard without insurance but they can carry different diseases, not just rabbies. It would be wise just to get a shot to make sure you are safe. Oh and in the future, try not feed the squirells out of your hand!

Don't go to the er but you should go get it checked out somewhere. If you don't then theres a small chance that you may have rabbies... better safe then sorry it should only cost about $50 to get checked up... maybe a little more if you actually have an infection... I have no idea how bad it is if you actually get infected.... its probably more pain than its worth tho... I'd get it checked out...
