Is myspace falling apart?

I've noticed a lot of my friends are starting to close their myspace accounts so I just wanted to put the word out there and see what you all think. I personally didn't think it was a site that would last long. Do you think that myspace is starting to lose its splendor?

I don't think it's falling apart but with some of the things they've been doing lately they've probably been losing a lot more members then usual. I mean, Facebook how they did their "applications" I was sort of OK with but Myspace it's like getting spam comments. "Ohh man, maybe my friend got back to me!" *reads message* "You've been invited to join mafia game, do you accept?" *sigh*
I think if anything it's in a "transitionary" stage. All the members it originally had are all grown up & the newer younger members that heard about it are taking over, thus it is causing a major fluxuation. Most of my friends seemed to have moved to Facebook, but I do still talk to quite a big amount on myspace.
Of course, that's just my theory!

I made about five bulletins telling my friends I don't want'em but *sigh*.. I still get'em. The only thing anyone can count on with me is that i'm NEVER going to send one to anyone lol,
Thanks for best response!

I agree about the applications. My friends have been sending me requests since Myspace added them. I finally gave in the other day and tried a couple. It screwed up my page. Once I removed them, everything was fine.
The thing that gets me is that the same people who are sending me requests are those that don't like Facebook, yet what they're doing is exactly what Facebook is about. I finally made a blog to tell people not to send me requests because I won't accept them. That's what I have Facebook for. And that's all I use it for. All my blogs and things like that are on Myspace. As my friend put it, Myspace is the serious networking site.

Yeah I think they have moved more towards spam in a way. I think the applications are there stricktly to pull in money. I mean its like a GPT site once your on those applications and they are all pretty much formatted the same way so I really don't get what the point of playing them is... other than to sign up for affiliate offers to get points.
A lot of my friends have always used facebook over myspace so I think that it will start seeing more action than when myspace was the big cheese. All in all I still think its loosing its glamor...

I'm not a myspace member as its far too complicated to navigate via mobile phone (i did have an account but i abandoned it) but i do know myspace its a very famous site and has been around for sometime now so i dont know, why are people closing their accounts there? Why do they think myspace is a place they dont want to be at anymore?

I know a lot of my friends are closing their accounts because they are sick of all the "drama" that happens on there. I personally have no idea what they are talking about since you can just ignore people... but whatever. It seems that people are just having to much contact with their friends and theirs just no way to turn it off lol. Its sad to imagine that... but I guess to much of your friends makes u sick of them? haha

I used to go on myspace a lot, but not so much anymore. I kind of got bored with it, because there is not much to do. The only thing I really like about it was that I could design my profile. After they started changing it, I really didn't like it. I have found other sites that are much better.

I don't think its falling apart. some people actually close their pages and open another one. not much of my friends are closing up. Some spammers I know get their page deleted. There are other social networking sites like Facebook and other things out there, but I think Myspace is still one of the popular ones.

I have noticed any of my friends from myspace that have left have left due to their riends never responding to them. It is more the popularity contest for them. I actually had a friends just leave me a message saying that she writes people and they are not responding to her so now she knows who all her "real" friends are...I personally think that myspace is great and you can make it as private as you want it. Even if you want it so private you are the only one that can look at it.
