when i first arrived here in mylot (actively) i have posted a discussion concerning our dog's behavior who seem to be getting worse each time and it just breaks my heart.
now, after 5 months he sure show a huge change and that makes me very very happy.
he dont growl anymore to my hubby and will not show an over protective personality towards me.
it is funny coz he will jump right in the middle of my hubby and i in our bed or if we are about to lay and hug in the couch.
he is back to his normal personality 3 years ago.
what makes me really proud is that, he dont bark to anybody now if i am walking him out.
he just walk on his own dont bother himself if he sees another dog who is barking like crazy to him.
it makes me smile coz for almost 2 years he have never behave in such away, he will bark against the other dog and sometimes it is frustrating.
we are living in an apartment complex and on the next building there is a new dog who barks like crazy whenever he sees someone specially a dog.
when i first so that dog i thought, oh no my dog will bark like crazy too, but this is what he did...
he walk next to him, sniff a little and then walk away.
i said, WHAT????
didnt you see that dog barking?
he looks at me and just walk again.
haha,
i told that to my hubby and he says well give him sometime he will bark you know that..
well i prove my man wrong coz we've been walking there like more than 20x now and he never barks even just once..
isn't that awesome?
i dont know what happened but i sure am not complaining coz it is making me happy and proud that he is going back to his old self.
i am still not letting anyone pet him coz i am still not sure how unpredictable he is so it is better to be that way than to be sorry.
anyway, just sharing my joy to all of you.
btw, have you ever have a pet who changes their behavior and then go back to its normal self after awhile?
thanks for reading!
takecare!

Hi sweetie. That is wonderful news. Didn't you say he started acting out after you moved? Animals take time to adjust to changes also. They also pick up on our feelings and if we act like we are uncertain, agitated, afraid, etc,. they may act the same way because of it.
I'm just glad you have your sweet little dog back. It's hard watching them go through things and not knowing exactly what set them off. Sometimes the answers are obvious but most times it sure would be nice if they could tell us what the problem is.
Big hugs,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
It sure is great to have our dog back, yes he changed mostly when we moved here. it is a very hard process for us specially our dog is a sweetheart for 3 years and becomes aloof and quite aggressive that last for a year.
our dog knows how simple and easy we are so hope he didnt get such personality to us haha.
kidding aside, i think that is one of the factor why our dog is very easy to be with and why he will never compete with anybody nor beg at the table or bite your finger when you feed him. he knows he is well taken cared of and that being his owner we do make sure that we are the kind of responsible pet owner.
how i wish sometimes i can be dr.dolittle and be able to just talk to them and not wonder what they are thinking or what they want or if there is something wrong.
i always want to be one but i guess my gift dont belong there.
anyway, it is always great to hear from you.
have a good one!
hugs...

I'm glad to see that your dog changed. I wish mine would go back to what she use to be like. My dog just in this year has become more agressive, barks at everything and anything and especially when we are outside and people walk by. Her hair stands up and she won't let up on the barking. She use to be able to go outside and you wouldn't even know that she was out there. People, dogs, cats, etc. could walk by and she didn't pay attention to them. She use to be very loving and quiet; now she wants to attack everything that goes by or knocks at the door. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Oh that is good, dogs are wonderful pets but they do have problems just being dogs, i see how easy the lady on TV trains dogs and I think maybe you have to think like one and treat them accordingly...I am so happy you are happy with your little dog..

hello lilaclady,
yes, dogs and any other pets are always great to have just because they are so sweet and playful.
anyway, our dog used to be very sweet just have a bad experienced from trips from China to here and it is not an easy one and have changed him drastically.
anyway, i dont know about the lady on TV you mention but i know the show in animal channel "Dog Whisperer" and i have tried that as well but not make any difference to his behavior - my mom-in-law even sent us the video tapes of the show hoping to help us out.
anyway, it is something that we are very happy about right now and hope it continues.
Thanks for the support.
