freedom is to come out of all ignorance... for me, I am free the time that my knowledge increase enough and I come out of all limitation which I have made around myself... negativity... breaking of that and find peace of mind and soul is freedom...

Wow! Didn't realize I posted this discussion 5 years ago. I agree. To be free requires us to take on the responsibilty for ourselves. For example, to be free of living under my parents roof I must take on the responsibility of supporting myself. To do that I must have my own place of dwelling which in itself requires the responsibility of its upkeep, which includes paying for the dwelling. This in turn requires a source of income, a job. All these things require my personal responsibility which is impossible if I am ignorant. Thanks for the response.

Freedom is the ability to do things that make me happy without the fear of anyone telling me that it is wrong. It is the ability to really live life at its fullest. It is the ability to go through life without fear, without any thoughts that I might get shunned by who I am or what I do. It is about living life to its fullest and doing what I see fit. Basically it is the ability to do everything that defines who I am. In a nutshell that is what freedom means to me.

Thanks for your response. I think freedom certainly means different things to different people. I like what you said about it giving us "...the ability to live life at it's fullest." To me, freedom is responsibility. To truly be free we must be willing to be responsible for our own actions and be willing to take life as it comes, both the good and bad. It doesn't mean that we don't sometimes have to look to others for help, it just means that we are willing to stand on our own, come what may. Good response.

Being able to do what you want within reason. To live where you want to and to have and work for what you want. To me, that is freedom.

Freedom means choice to me, to be able to have the choice to do whatever you want. Being able to live the way you want, being able to have human rights. We take our freedom and a lot of many other things for granted and we don't realise that there are so many people out there who can't help themselves no matter what...

Hello! Man is born free but everywhere in chain.I don't feel I am free in my life.I am always dependent on others for my livelihood and maintenance. My mind controls my mind and actions. My conscience never allow me to indulge freely in some affairs.Similarly I am not free to say anything to anybody. So we are not free in the true sense of the term.Freedom may mean something for the people in the higher bracket not for general mass.thanx.

freedom means to be free. the ability which you can do whatever you desire without someone controlling you. It will be on your own decision and you yourself will control your own way.

On earth there is no absolute freedom. It must be within the bounds of law, discipline, moral. For example, you are not supposed to smoke in public places.

Hi friend
In my view freedom is the right to choose. It is the right to create yourself the alternative choice.

Freedom is a simple right to do things, decisions of your choice whether wrong or right. Nobody is there to blame you for the consequences.Nobody will have any complaint about your act, no notice of your do's and not do's
