Christmas is the longest holiday season here in our country. Every Christmas time, we used to always attend the family reunions happening in the province; particularly consisting of relatives in my mother's side. Until now, it's still a tradition in our clan.
But sad to say, ever since I got married, our holiday seasons are spent and divided between going to my parents and to my in-laws. Say, if we celebrate Christmas with my parents, we'd certainly be with my in-laws during the New Year. I find it quite more expensive and exhausting since me, my husband, and our daughter make a lot of trips to and from her grandparents.
For this holiday season, I have a feeling that it will be quite different because I guess by that time, either I'm totally displaced from my present job or we're going to be so busy wrapping up the business. So, I still haven't made any plans for this year because I'm still not sure of what's happening next in our lives, because of this status of my job.
All my life it's been so hectic during these times in our families. I do hope that someday, when we finally have our own house and parcel of land in the province, we'll be able to spend some solemn family time with only me, my husband, and our daughter during Christmas. Or for a change, it could also be that our relatives will be the ones to visit us in our own house during holiday season.
Regarding a favorite holiday spot, you might think it's funny and strange but I have to admit that I'd like to spend more time with my in-laws during holiday seasons. It's not that I don't like seeing and being with my parents and my own relatives but for one, the sceneries and life over my in-laws' place is more refreshing and slow; it's country living over there. I could spend more restful days with them; unlike in my parents' place, it's a city and much congested not only of pollution and people but also of happenings which I think, sometimes we get to loose the concentration on the real meaning of holidays which is bonding together with the family. The focus usually is more on who earn and gives how much and what material gifts they give.

If one is staying outside his native place, surely its a good place to go for holidaying, nostalgic also. I personally like to go to mountains and forests. I like sea shores less attractive. The reason is you stay on a shore town for more than two days, you will get bored, same scene again and again, one after another wave coming and going back. On the other hand, you go to mountains, the same spot is seen different from each turning of the spiralling roads. Or the forests, ahhhh!! I understand everybody will not agree with me but thats what I like.
