A pleasant surprise from my son

It's a hot and sweltering afternoon here in my place. My wife left for school she is attending to and I was left alone with my five year old son. I really was quite bored as my son just played his PSP so I decided to tinker on my PC as well he is staying at his room while me outside with my PC. Then all of a sudden he approached me and said "Pa I have a surprised for you, please close your eyes". Innocently I oblige, I thought it was just his winnings with the PSP but he gave me a letter which says.
Dear Papa,
I love you papa. You like Starwars, You like PSP.
From JR
That simple gesture made my feelings pretty complete and brought me almost to tears but I just hug him and thank him for doing that. I was surprised he wrote this short and simple letter but I just thank God for giving me such a sweet little boy. I hope and pray that He would grow up just like that and I would just be a proud and happy father.

That is absolutely adorable! I love receiving self-made stuff from my niece :) He'd even draw on my notebooks and I wouldn't mind. He'd draw me as a stick figured curly haired girl beside a monster about to eat me whole and I still find it absolutely beautiful!
You are very lucky :) I hope you have even more reason to gloat!
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I guess anyone will give a positive reaction to his son after that situation. So far, the greatest relationship for me is that of a father and a son. I grew up not really close to my father and I like seeing father and son having a good time together. If I will have a son in the future, I'll truly be trying my best to raised the man he will become.

That is just too precious, rsa. I know this one was posted 3 months ago and I hope you kept the letter still. Take care and hope you have more of these moments with your son.

aw thats adorable!! surprising how something so little and in reality kind of silly, can be so emotionally powerful and mean so much!
make sure you tuck that little note away someplace safe for when he is grown.

Thanks for that great story. If there is one thing kids are consistent at, that is surprising you. It's the little things they do that mean the most. I raised four kids and there were always delights that came with the responsibility. Of course, there were the heartaches as well. But all in all, if I had it to do again, I wouldn't change a thing.

Oh so sweet of your son! I understand your feelings! Not all kids of his age are as sweet! I can imagine how touched you are. I am a parent myself and when my son would give me cards he himself made, I also would feel so elated. It shows just how much your kid regarded you and I pray he stays as sweet as he is!

Yes it was indeed a pleasant surprise from him. Although I see him that in schooll teachers encourage their students to write letters to their parents. But this one he did it on his own without anyone telling him to do so that is why I feel pretty special about it.

Thank you very much for that kind response of yours. I am pretty sure you are too with your parents. it made me think if I was like that with my father back then but I could not remember if I was like that. Maybe I am just blessed to have this kind of a son.

It is always nice when you get something from kids, especially something that truely came from the heart. You are very lucky to have such a caring son.
