Which has more options to do with it, I think rice has far more alternatives then pasta and tastes better, what do you think?

I think both are actually pretty versatile and taste great, but I am just awful at cooking rice. I usually use the Success brown rice boil-in-bag since it's easy and quick. I like to use whole wheat spaghetti and lasagna noodles for pasta. You can't really taste much of a difference from the regular noodles and it's better for you. There're some great recipes out there for both pasta and rice!

I have tried the whole wheat spaghetti a long time ago and like the taste, but it has a grainy feel that gives me the sensation of eating sand. Do you notice a graininess to it? It is made with a harder wheat (I can't remember if durham or semolina is harder) and it doesn't grind into as fine a flour.

You're right about the graininess in some of the pasta. The lasagna noodles I don't notice it, but the spaghetti sometimes has that texture. I hate that it's more expensive than regular pasta! Seems like they want us to eat healthier food, but then they charge us more for it...makes no sense. LOL

Wel i like both pasta and rice and i find both as versatile as each other, both can be made into a salad with vegetables and maybe some chicken or ham and rice can be made into a rissotto, pasta can be made into a pasta bake cooked in the oven. There are far to many recipes for both to list here but experiment with different combinations and your sure to come up with something exciting and tasty

How dare you do this to me? I love them both. I love rice and I love pasta. I love steamed rice and I love spaghetti. Dammit! Now, I feel hungry.

if I am not that hungry, or I am at the party, I will definitely look for pasta. but If I am at home or here in the office, and I am too much hungry, then that's the time for me to eat rice.

Both have endless possibilities! Since all my children are grown and I'm only cooking for one person, I find it hard to cut recipes down to a single serving. When I'm making a recipe I consider if I'm going to freeze it or keep it in the fridge until I eat it all. If I'm going to freeze it, I use rice because pasta doesn't freeze well. It get mushy when it's thawed out and reheated. It seems to withstand reheating just fine if it isn't frozen.
