I am a Software developer. I have done Masters in Computer Science from Germany. But I had to take a break since I had a child. So now I am really not sure if I can go back to the industry? A break in the field of programming is not good. Will the recruiters acknowledge my reason for break, or would they prefer some one else other than me? Can some one give me any tips by which I can brush up my knowledge and get a job in java as well ?

I know I'm no expert, but I think you are right. When it comes to software development being out that long may spell the end of your career. But you need not be out of hope. I think attending seminars related to your field should be your first step. You'll be able to update your resume and you'll have accomplished continued education. By the way did you resign or took a leave from your old job? If you resigned, as long as you can still perform well you need no worry that no one will hire you.

Its a noble decision and I'm happy you made it. I assure you even if you are down, you need not worry since in the long run it will pay off because you are taking good care of your child. Kindness and love can only begot more kindness and love.

Java.sun.com is the place you should visit to brush up your java programming skill and get the most updated java information. If you encounter any problems, just post your doubts at the java forum. Many helpful experts will definitely help you. Anyway since you got a Masters I believe find a job is going to be easy for you~
