My armpits are very picky things. I once bought a deodorant that could be considered "chic" or "teen" and it irritated my armpits. I only used it for maybe two days and then later when I had no deodorant, but I will not buy that type of deodorant again. I can't even remember the name of the deodorant other then it was in a green bottle and was cucumber melon in scent. Cucumber Melon is my favorite fragrance or scent, and I especially love the bath bubbles you can get at Wal * Mart. So does your arm pits get irritated if they are not pampered with "expensive" deodorants or can you smack on just about anything? I just wonder what was in it to make it irritate my armpits or if it was the fragrance itself as it was very strong.

Hi SomeCowgirl,
I use a man's deodorant anti perspirant as I live in a hot country and run around from morning to night. I don't think that I can call the name. It is expensive but it is worth it to me.
I was taught by my nother to wash the area with soap and then wash and soap up again again before shaving this area. If it is soaped up several times then you can use a deodorant immediately after shaving or waxing. Blessings

Your mother sounds wise! I know that I was taught something similar and I think it's because it makes the armpits smoother, and maybe easier to grab all the hairs! I know if I just use shaving cream for the area and no soap I have to rinse my armpits well as sneaky hairs like to adhere to the deodorant itself!
Now for waxing, ouzzie, I don't think my armpits would like that!

I don't wax there either but I just put it in to show that I know about these things! Blessings

I don't use deodorant on my armpits but I do apply talcum powder on it as I apply on my body after bath. The talcum powder is made from Aloe Vera and has a mint soothing cooling effect on the body and my armpit. It is sufficient for me. I think what we eat in our diet also has effect on the smell and irritation in our armpits. I have read in surveys that the more meat one eats the more smelly the armpits would be. I don't know if this is true.

I've used baby powder, and I think that it's nice for the armpits, I'm sure the Aloe powder would be even better. Sorry I didn't see this before, I like foods and I do think that it plays a role, I guess if you eat a lot of sweet food then it also balances it out, but I'm sure sweet in the way of vegetables and fruits would be better.
Have a wonderful day!

Baby,I personally think a deodorant is a deodorant and I could probably use any deodorant out there without it irritating my armpits, even though I personally prefer the smell of Phoenix by Axe and I will use that as a stick deodorant and as a spray and whenever I was in a hurry and did not have the time to use the stick I would use the spray to keep my armpits from stinking,I love you.

I know that's your favorite. I think that as a guy you don't have much to worry about in the means of sensitive under arm as you have hair there and the hair blocks any irritation that would be caused by the deodorant.

ah..well u gotta be easy on ur underarms babe. the best i would suggest is an aloe vera based deo. these are mild and soothe ur delicate underarm skin. but make sure you take care of ur pits coz you wouldnt want any kind of rashes or skin irritation on them especially after shavin or waxing them.

I've had skin irritation on my armpits and I know how sore and burny it is! Such a delicate area to shave, I appreciate the advice about aloe deodorants, I think i've used that before.
