What will you buy your kids for Christmas?

Obviously I would like to buy the perfect gifts for my children but it is not always possible. My eldest, who is 7, wants a DS, PSP and a Wii, well today he does. I don't want to buy any of these because I feel that he will disappear out of my life in a pre-teen state never to exit his bedroom again apart for food, school and bathroom visits! Not only that, they are obviously expensive gifts. I have so far bought a PS2 for us all to play and enjoy, which will remain in the living room!! I also have a 3 and 5 year old who are, at the moment, quite happy to go with the flow provided my eldest doesn't get his persuasive claws into them. I think I will probably just buy several little things for them as I did last year.
What about you? What have your kids starting asking for? What will you be buying for them this year? Have you given it much thought yet?

So far I have bought my daughter a dora the explorer chopper bike, I am not sure whether it is to be her main christmas present or a birthday present. She will turn 3 on the 27th December! But I think she will get if for christmas.
My two boys are wanting nintendo ds's, so I am going to get them at the end of September, if I leave it until November I will not be able to get them I made this mistake before. My eldest will be 17 christmas, so he is not going to be getting a huge lot, might just give him some money this year to spend as he wants.

Remember when I was a kid and my biggest worry was, like, if I would get a bike for Christmas present.
Be an adult? Totally overrated.
Anyway, I think your kids will like your presnets since u have know them well already

My children will be 17,15,11,8 and 2 at Christmas. For my eldest two sons we usually give them money as we find them hard to shop for but i always make sure they have a couple of small items to unwrap Christmas day.
My 11 year old daughter has asked for a game for her wii but that is all she asked for at the moment.
My son who turns 8 on December 21st has not asked for anything either yet.
My two year old will be happy with anything to do with Lazy Town he loves that show.
I have already brought some Doctor Who books for my 7 year old son but not sure weather to give them to him for his birthday or Christmas.

Hi there littleone3
Busy times for you then with your little tribe and a birthday thrown in for good measure! LazyTown is great. I got some of the LazyTown figures for youngest when he turned 3 last March, he also got pyjamas and a Robbie Rotten outfit with periscope as I couldn't find a Sportacus outfit at the time, got one secondhand but in good condition about a month later. My advice would be not to buy LazyTown stuff on e-bay because you can find it cheaper in the shops. The Stephanie figure was going for £15 plus P&P and I found it for £6 in our local supermarket!

My son is 13 and wants a Wii. I think that's what I will get him. He has a DS and plays it sometimes. He is an only child. He still does a lot of things with us, his parents. So I don't worry about him spending too much time playing games. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi ya Jusino777
I thought about getting a Wii too but I thought the games are still pretty expensive and sometimes you have to get other attachments to go with the games like steering wheels and stuff. You'd better get one soon before they sell out like they did last year.
Thanks for your response

Hi amanda333
My eldest is 7 and will be 8 on the the 6th January, I am thinking that I am goint to get him a DS but it will have to be for his birthday too. I will buy a few games for his birthday and they can be from his brothers. That is why I get my shopping done early so that I can enjoy the decorating of the tree and doing the decorations and the lead up to Christmas without any thought of the gifts!
Thanks for your response

I know it seems early but yes I have given it a lot of thought. My 4 year old has asked for just about everything imaginable so I have a lot o things to choose from. He has so many toys. I want to get him something to help him learn and maybe some sports things. My other son is 3 weeks now. So he will only be 4 months old. I have no idea what I am going to get for him yet but I will figure something out. Have a great day.

My daughter is 9. She hasn't asked for anything in particular yet, and I've been trying to wrack my brain and come up with some ideas. She's into computers, so maybe I'll get her some games for that, and books since she loves to read. At her age, she's in between toys and pre-teen interests so it's getting a little tough. She does like clothes, so that's always an idea as well.
Her birthday is 3 days after Christmas, so I need to come up with ideas for that, too!
