Hi, I'm from CA and we already implemented the hands-free law here but I still see people holding thier phones while driving. Ok, am too guilty at times of doing it. I just don't fancy using a bluetooth device. How 'bout you, do you drive and talk on the phone less a hands-free device? Happy mylotting to all!!!

That's always been uncomfortable . I've often asked people to hold on while I pull over, out of traffic. When the conversation's over, I go on with my travels. On expressways, I just don't answer. I'd rather deal with voicemail than emergency rooms.

That should be the right way of dealing with it. Kudos to you for being safety conscious. I only recieve really important or urgent calls. But otherwise, I won't know if it is until I pick up the phone... But as much as possible I don't recieve calls when on the freeway. Thanks!

Thanks for the "best." As a high school teacher, I often see kids seriously hurt in accidents when they're on the phone.

I do the same as the first post. If I am lost and I need directions I will pull over then call. I simply cannot focus and pay attention in traffic while on the phone. If there is no traffic I am fine especially on the freeway since there is hardly any turning involved. Since I drive a stick its a little hard to hold the phone turn the wheel and shift gears... If everyone drove a stick there would be less people on their phones lol. I'm very biased. I think that people who drive manual cars drive with more focus.

True! Driving with a stickshift and talking on the phone is only reserved for the talented..

I don't because I am one of those people who cannot concentrate while doing it so to avoid causing an accident I just pull aside. I see people weaving in out and when I look over they are on the phone. I agree with the hands-free law in some states. I wish they would all have it.

I used to do it all the time. Since I've been pregnant, I really haven't done it, and since I'm becoming a mom, I'll probably never do it again! I wouldn't even want someone else driving and talking on the phone with me in the car with them now, or my baby. I'm so nervous about someone hitting me now, I just always wait to use the phone.

Here in NJ it is a first offense to drive while on the cell phone. I haven't purchased a bluetooth yet since they are pricey but do have a headset. It is just so uncomfortable I don't use it much, and try my best to not be on the phone in the car. I don't usually see a reason to talk on the phone in the car anyway - it probably can wait till I get home.
