I like everything they dropped, but Deloused is absolutely the best one. It was amazingly well constructed, Francis The Mute would come in a close second:D

Wow, I'm kind of late for this discussion... Anyway, I kind of have to wrestle it around in my head, but I have to go with Frances the Mute. I had to try about 5 times to sit down and listen to the whole album in one go. But once I finally did, and I started to understand the story behind it all, it became a great experience for me. It wins out for me just with it's ending. The way it reprises the beginning, but is filled with such sadness and defeat, just rips my heart out. I think it was the first time I really felt something with an album.

one of the best band for me. Well for me it would be the Delosude in the Comatorium. I love all the tracks especially televators. But when it comes to the story, I love the story more behind the Frances the mute. I love those kind of story whrere there are multiple personality and also how they portray the things happen today.

i would also have to say deloused is my favorite. it seems like after deloused and frances the mute you could just hear his voice getting weirder and weirder, and definitely not for the better. after a while they start to sound like they are ripping off their older albums

For the longest time, I've been particularly obsessed with De-loused in the Comatorium. I do enjoy the fluency and direct storyline to accompany the text, etc. and the lyrics are perhaps the most provocative of any Mars Volta album (I particularly enjoy "Eriatarka", "This Apparatus Must Be Unearthed", "Televators", and "Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt"). After a relatively short period of having a deep interest in the religious connotation and sacrilege therein of Amputechture (focusing primarily on "Tetragrammaton" and "Meccamputechture") I've been rather put off of the album for the lack of the ever-present and complex storyline that The Mars Volta has put out with both prior albums. Amputechture has a nice ambient soundscape, but the basic premise is a crumbled and worn-out concept. More recently, however, I think I may have, perhaps, become much more enthralled with Frances the Mute (and, although going somewhat against the grain, I shall henceforth declare this album to be my favourite). The concept is more complex with the characters ranging to what are perhaps six (if you include the single "Frances the Mute) separate entities, building on De-loused's prior use of only a single protagonist: Cerpin Taxt. Furthermore, I've rather gone to appreciate the switch of languages prominent in "L'Via L'Viaquez" hinting towards a glosslalian structure for the coming Amputechture that I find linguistically amusing. But most simply, I love "Miranda, That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore".
