Drinking...WHY?

I'd love to know why a majority of the kids at my school (and around the country) drink before they reach age 21. College kids can do it if they want, it doesn't really matter. But high school students who are aged 15 and 16 drink when they shouldn't and most of the time they have no good reason to. can someone explain to me why they do it?

I think the main reason that they drink before the age requirement is due to the fact that it's the fact of knowing that you're doing something that you shouldn't be. The whole idea of getting caught doing something "bad" and being accepted by peers is the biggest reason. When you think about it, once you get old enough to drink, sure it's fun but everyone knows you can drink so it's no big deal. I think that the people who drink before they're allowed are the ones who crave attention and want that acceptance in their life. They don't care who is accepting them or how they are getting attention, but they crave it.

They want to show that they are adults so thats why they drink, smoke and such things. Or maybe they think girls like that, but they dont.
Or they wana break the rules
Or they think they feel hmm..more powerfull when they drik?
They think they get more fun when they drik?

I would say the peer pressure has a lot to do with it . It seems as every year that passes the kids get younger and younger when they first start to drink . If they only knew the dangers this was causing for them but like most teenagers they don't want to listen to adults or others that know what they are talking about . Teenagers feel they know more then anyone else , they feel they are adult enough to make their own decisions and don't like when anyone is telling them the difference between right and wrong .
The problem is , that is more often then not , too late when they realize that they should have taken the time to listen to what elders were saying to them .
Teenagers often feel the need to rebel against all rules and one of the big rules with most parents is to please not drink .
Once they start they often find it easier to drink to escape from problems , for those that are shy it often helps them to feel better about themselves and for those that are being pressured it is so much easier to go along with what everyone else is doing then to stick up for what they know is right .

I believe that the reason for a high school kid drinking is due to lack of love from his parents.Sometimes they do it,by watching their parents drinking too. Most of them want to try what is it all about and eventually they are trapped in the pit.Good morals have to be taught to them and only then it can be stopped.
